With the technology and advance design available today it is stunning what can be done with bathrooms and kitchen remodeling. The selections and color choices are almost limitless along with various floor, cabinet and wall products.
When designing a new kitchen first consider how you use your existing kitchen presently. Also consider resell, even if that isn’t in the works for now, kitchens sell houses. Are you a family that sits at the counter to eat or do you enjoy formal dining? Do you like the television on while you eat or do you enjoy family conversation and interacting with each other? Don’t plan a kitchen that doesn’t go with your present family habits or you might not enjoy it. Plan, plan, plan. Visit model homes, see what you like and what you don’t like, take notes, keep a binder, cut swatches and designs out of magazines, go to the library. Do your homework so the kitchen of your dreams really is your dream kitchen.
Do you like painted surfaces or are you more natural with wood cabinets. Do you mind cleaning floors or do you prefer linoleum with its easy clean ability. Wood takes more work, tile less. Make a virtual design with all the colors, flooring, counter tops and cabinets in place so you can see what works well together. Many kitchen remodeling companies offer 3D design to help with your vision. Plan for plenty of cabinet space, counter space and good lighting. Good lighting makes a kitchen appear larger and more inviting than a dark, cramped one. Your kitchen is where you spend the bulk of your time at home, make it beautiful and convenient and reflect your families personality.
